day 1 OCTOBER 3 Enroute - Fly to Venice.
We travel from our home town to Venice, Italy.
day 2 OCTOBER 4 VENICE – PADUA (D)
Upon arrival in Venice, we transfer to Padua, home of St. Anthony and St. Leopold Mandic. We go to the Church of St. Leopold where we will visit his Shrine, venerate his body and celebrate Mass. We will go to the Church of St. Justin, where we will venerate the Tomb of St. Luke, the Evangelist. We end the day at our hotel for dinner and overnight.
day 3 OCTOBER 5 Padua - Venice (BD)
Our first Shrine this morning is the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua, doctor of the Church, and finder of lost articles. We celebrate Mass, then go to the tomb of the Saint. We venerate the tomb of St. Anthony, and go to the relic room where his tunic is preserved, as well as relics of his voice box, his tongue and larynx, which are incorrupt. We continue on to Venice. Our first stop is the Church of Sts. Jeremiah and Lucy. Venerate the incorrupt body of St. Lucy. The rest of the afternoon in Venice is free. Return to Padua for dinner and overnight.
day 4 october 6 bologna – forli - loreto (bd)
We travel to Bologna, and the shrine of St. Catherine of Bologna, where we will view and pray before her incorrupt body which has been seated out of obedience. We also visit the Basilica of St. Dominic. Visit his tomb and the cell of the founder of the Dominican Order. Continue on to Forli, and the Shrine of St. Peregrine, the Cancer Saint. Venerate his incorrupt body, and pray at the chapel where he was cured of Cancer. We end our day at Loreto, shrine of the Holy House of Loreto.
day 5 october 7 loreto – osimo – loreto (bd)
We begin our day with morning Mass at the Holy House. After Mass, Bob and Penny will give an orientation tour of the Holy House, and visit the chapels of the various Saints who have visited here. We go to the office of the universal Congregation of the Holy House where there is material in English which can be purchased. This afternoon, we go to Osimo, a town nearby, and venerate the shrine of St. Joseph Cupertino, the Flying Saint and patron of students. We will relive his life and ministry here. Return to Loreto.
day 6 october 8 tolentino- lanciano -San Giovanni Rotondo (BD)
We begin our day at the Shrine of St. Nicholas of Tolentino, patron of the Poor Souls in Purgatory. Visit his church, which tells the life of the Saint. See his tomb and his incorrupt body. We will celebrate Mass at the tomb of St. Nicholas. Go to the ex-voto room, and see thousands of thanksgivings for miracles through the intercession of the Saint. Visit the Presipio, a large and beautiful Nativity scene. Continue to Lanciano to visit the Miracle of the Eucharist. We end our day at San Giovanni Rotondo, home of St. Padre Pio.
day 7 october 9 San giovanni rotondo–mt. st. angelo(BD)
Mass at St. Padre Pio’s tomb, followed by meeting in English speaking office, where you can have masses offered, get English language books on St. Padre Pio, and religious objects. They will give you a cup of American coffee, and cookies. We follow this with a tour of the Church, including the cell of St. Padre Pio, where he lived and died, and the chapel where he received the Stigmata, in front of the same crucifix where he was praying. This afternoon, we go to Monte St. Angelo, and the Cave of St. Michael, which was claimed by St. Michael for the Angels in the 5th century. See the statue of St. Michael, and the statues of doves given to the Shrine by Pope John Paul II. Return to San Giovanni.
day 8 october 10 San Giovanni Rotondo (BD)
After morning Mass, we have a free day in San Giovanni Rotondo to visit the Shrine of St. Padre Pio, and Walk the Way of the Cross across from the Church of Our Lady of Grace.
day 9 october 11 Mugnano del Cardinale -materdomini - salerno (bd)
We travel across scenic Italy to Mugnano del Cardinale, the Shrine of St. Philomena, an early Martyr of the Church. Celebrate Mass here. View the remains of the Saint, and her shrine. Learn the life of this special Saint. From here, we go to Materdomini, and the Shrine of St. Gerard Majella, a very powerful intercessor for healthy childbirths. He is also known as the Handkerchief Saint. See his shrine, his reliquary room which is filled with ex-votos of babies born healthy, or saved from terrible illnesses. See the story of his life in paintings, the cell he lived in, and his tomb. We go to Salerno for the night.
day 10 october 12 pompeii - montecassino - Aquino - rome (b)
We begin our day in New Pompeii, at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of Pompeii. Celebrate Mass here. Learn the history of the Shrine and its founder, Bl. Bartolo Longo, Apostle of the Rosary. Visit his tomb, and the house where he lived when he was building the shrine to our Lady. Continue on to Aquino, the birthplace and home of St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the most powerful saints in the history of the Church. See his home, where he was imprisoned by his family for two years, and the Parish Church he must have attended in the 13th Century. Continue on to Monte Cassino, and the Shrine of St. Benedict, founder of the Benedictine order, and father of western monasticism and St. Scholastica, his sister. Tour this most fascinating shrine. We end our day in Rome.
day 11 october 13 Rome -– genazzano (B)
Today, we take part in the general audience with Pope Benedict XVI, where he will give a powerful teaching. In the afternoon we leave Rome for a short trip to Genazzano, where there is a Marian Miracle and a Miracle of the Cross in the same church. Many of our popes, including John Paul II and John XXIII have celebrated Mass here as well as St. Don Bosco. We will celebrate Mass here, and have a tour of this magnificent Shrine

day 12 october 14 Rome (b)
Today we will have a guided tour by our Roman guide through the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. This will be followed by a tour of the major basilicas of Rome, St. Peter, St. Mary Major, St. Paul outside the Walls, and St. John Lateran. Those who wish to ascend the Scala Santa, the Holy Steps on their knees may do so.
day 13 october 15 Bolsena - Orvieto - Cascia - Assisi (bd)
We leave Rome and travel to Bolsena and Orvieto, the churches responsible for the Miracle of the Eucharist which brought about the Feast of Corpus Christi. Continue on to Cascia, where we will venerate the incorrupt body of St. Rita, and another Miracle of the Eucharist. We end our day in Assisi, home of Sts. Francis and Clare.
Day 14 October 16 assisi - montefalco - assisi (bd)
Morning Mass at the Tomb of St. Francis followed by a guided tour of the Basilica of St. Francis by a Franciscan guide. We go cross town to the Basilica of St. Clare of Assisi. See the original Cross of San Damiano which spoke to St. Francis. See the tomb of St. Clare and her reliquary room. This afternoon, we go to Montefalco, and the shrine of another St. Clare, an Augustinian Saint. Venerate her incorrupt body; see the marks of the passion on her heart. Visit with the nuns who are allowed to minister to pilgrims. Return to Assisi and the Portiuncola, the original Church of St. Francis and the Franciscan community. See his cell, the Rose Garden and the first little church of the community.
day 15 october 17 citta di castello - La Verna - Rome (B)
We go to Citta di Castello, shrine of St. Veronica Giuliani, a Poor Clare whose body is incorrupt. Visit her Shrine and the museum which shows the Cross she carried, and the relics of her heart. We go to Mt. La Verna to pray where St. Francis received the Stigmata. We continue on to Rome, to a hotel near Leonardo da Vinci Airport, in preparation for our trip home tomorrow.

We board our plane in Rome for home, and arrive the same day.

Pilgrimage to Italy Terms and Conditions
Pilgrimage Prices: Quoted in US Dollars, based on rates, tariffs and exchange rates for groups of 30 or more in effect on January 2010. Rates are subject to change in the event of revisions. Pilgrimages with less than the required number of passengers may depart at the discretion of JC Ministry Inc./dba Journeys of Faith, but an additional cost may be incurred. Pilgrims will be advised of any surcharges before departure. Rates published are based on double occupancy, with additional charge for single. What is Included in Basic Pilgrimage Package: All land transportation via air-conditioned luxury motorcoach. All first class hotels - Two meals per day (as indicated by Breakfast and Dinner) except in Rome, which includes breakfast only. All Sightseeing, All tips, and Baggage Handling - Price includes only one suitcase per passenger, no heavier than 50 lbs. All baggage is the responsibility of the pilgrim and airline/hotel or bus company.
Not Included: Airfare - Many of our Pilgrims choose to provide their own airfare because of difficulty with connecting flights and routing, and others like to take advantage of Frequent Flyer Miles. Journeys of Faith will be most happy to help you book your air at the best prices available in the market at the time of booking. With these uncertain times it is best that you check with Journeys of Faith before booking your own air.
Airport Transfers - Arrival and departure transfers are not included in Land Only packages. However, transfers will be available provided you arrive at scheduled Pilgrimage dates and times. If your flight arrives prior to or after the scheduled Pilgrimage dates and time you will need to provide your own transportation at your own cost. Pick up and drop off schedule will be provided prior to departure.
Also Not Included Are: Any items not mentioned above or of a personal nature such as Passport and Visa fees, laundry, beverages, tips for room service, excess baggage charges, health and accident insurance, medical expenses incurred, replacement of items forgotten or stolen while on pilgrimage. Also not included is tip for bus driver. Suggested tip $3.00 per day per person. IMPORTANT NOTE - Additional Charge for Visas for Non -U.S. Citizens
Deviations: Any deviations from the pilgrimage, requested by the pilgrim, will be assessed at an additional administrative charge of $100.00 per person, plus any additional costs the change may incur.
Responsibility: JC Ministry Inc/dba Journeys of Faith reserves the right to cancel a departure date or a whole pilgrimage due to lack of participation or for reasons beyond our control such as natural disasters, acts of war, acts of God or government restrictions. If such an unlikely event should occur, we will offer an alternate departure date or pilgrimage program. Should you decline an alternate date or should we cancel the pilgrimage outright, the limit of our liability to you will be the refund of all monies received, including any cancellation penalties. We will not be liable, however, for costs incurred by you not paid to us, such as visas and passport costs, items of a personal nature, domestic transportation either by ground or air etc....nor will we be liable for any psychological damages, traumas, stress, disappointment, personal and financial loss resulting from our change of departure date or cancellation of a pilgrimage. This right is also reserved to alter the itinerary should this become advisable due to schedule changes and other causes beyond the control of the operator.
Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the passenger, conversely, refund will be made to the passenger if any savings is effected thereby. Itineraries and Prices are subject to change without notice. If a pilgrim leaves, and their roommate remains, the rate will revert to single room supplement for remainder of trip which remaining pilgrim will have to pay. The pilgrim understands that he/she has no claim against JC Ministry Inc./dba Journeys of Faith for any delay or damage to or loss of property or baggage or injury to or death of persons due to any neglect or willful act of a direct air carrier, hotel, bus company, transportation company or service company of any kind, or any other person or persons rendering any of the services being offered in connection with these pilgrimages. JC Ministry Inc./dba Journeys of Faith acts only as an agent in securing hotels, transportation and other travel services, and in no event shall JC Ministry Inc./dba Journeys of Faith be liable for any act, accidental or intentional of a third party. In the event of a litigation, both parties agree that such procedures will take place in and under the jurisdiction of Conway County, Arkansas, the headquarters of JC Ministry Inc./dba Journeys of Faith.
Physical Disabilities: Any disability requiring special attention must be noted on the Pilgrimage Information Form. Any person who cannot travel independently, or who needs physical assistance of any kind, must be accompanied by a companion who can fully and solely attend to the person’s needs. Our guides and drivers cannot help a handicapped person, nor can we ask our staff or the pilgrims to help. We are really not equipped to handle Handicapped pilgrims. We are also not equipped to handle special diet meals. The pilgrim must take care of any special needs directly with airlines, hotels or bus himself.
Reservations and Payments: For reservations, please complete the Pilgrimage Membership Application. A Deposit of Faith of $500.00 per person will hold your reservation up to ninety days prior to departure. FULL PAYMENT IS DUE 60 DAYS BEFORE DEPARTURE.
Cancellation and Refund: Full refund of all monies is made if cancellation is received up to 60 days before departure. For cancellations received between 59-31 days, $500.00 Cancellation Fee per person. For Cancellations received 30 days prior to departure, Cancellation fee of 100% of the price (totally non-refundable). No refunds if you fail to complete tour. No refund can be made for any unused services (such as missed meals or sightseeing tours). This is why we strongly recommend Trip Cancellation Insurance.
Baggage: On land portions, one suit case, 50 pounds TOTAL WEIGHT PER PERSON is included in your Basic Pilgrimage Package. For each additional piece, $6.00 US Dollars per hotel is charged.
