What are Pilgrimages? Webster defines a Pilgrimage as a journey of a Pilgrim to a sacred Shrine. Simple enough, but need's more clarification. Now Pilgrim is defined as somebody who goes on a journey to a holy place for religious reasons. The keyword here being religious. For the most part, Pilgrims go on a Pilgrimage for religious various reasons: to see the Shrines on the Itinerary to pray for a special intention to pray for a healing (i.e. Pilgrimage to Lourdes) to see the Pope to gain spirituality to experience the Catholic tradition of Pilgrimage all of the above Whatever your reason, it does not matter. What is important is that you plan it very, very well so that when it comes time to leave you are set. The time on the Pilgrimage is special and the more you prepare, the more you will attain your reasons for going.
