Mexico and Poland have been compared in many ways.

Pope John Paul II liked to make the comparisons.

Both have been a people suppressed.

Both have produced Saints in the Catholic Church - Martyrs leading the way

Both are Catholic countries.

Mexico and shrines are one and the way.

Guadalajara - Shrine of the Mexican Martyrs

The major Seminary in Guadalajara has produced dozens of Canonized Saints among the thousands of Priests that have graduated.

These Saints are the Mexican Martyrs of the 20th Century.

Inside the Cathedral is the Shrines of Mexico - the Mexican Martyrs.

Also, there is a Shrine at the major seminary. Both are well worth the visit.

There are two very special Shrines to the Blessed Virgin in the state of Jalisco. These are the Shrines of Zapopan and San Juan de Los Lagos

In the state of Tlaxcala there are several Shrines of interest.

1. The Cathedral in Puebla - Inside this magnificent structure are treasures of art and history.

Puebla is the called the "City of the Angels" and you will see them depicted everyone. Look for them.

One special painting you do not want to miss is a large painting of the Immaculate Conception with a rainbow. The rainbow is filled with Angels.

2. The Rosary Chapel in Puebla. Beautiful chapel of the Rosary just down the street from the Cathdral.

3. Shrine of Our Lady of Ocotlan The wooden statue of Our Lady of Ocotlan was found inside a tree.

In addition there is a Chapel down the hill from the Shrine were the Miraculous spring still produces water.

4. Shrine of Saint Michael the Archangel. This Shrine also has a miraculous spring that produces water. (but not always - discover why the water stops?)

The Shrine of Santo Nino de Atocha The Shrine of Santo Nino de Atocha is located in the city of Plateros in the State of Zacatecas.
