Wadowice - birthplace of Pope John Paul II. In Wadowice you will be able to visit Pope John Paul II's home. It has been turned into a museum filled with mementos and photos of his early life. You will see his baby pictures and some of his skis. I remember when we were taping for the dvd, we had to wear the slippers to protect the wood floors, which are the original. SIDEBAR We included scenes from Wadowice and his home in the dvd. SIDEBAR You will see that his home was modest but sufficient. Just next door to his home is the Church where Pope John Paul II was baptized and where he served at Mass. Remember that at nine years old his mother died and he went to this Church and knelt at the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and gave himself to Blessed Mother. You can pray at the very spot he prayed. The town of Wadowice is small and compact. You can take a stroll and visit some of the shops in the town center.
